The Giving Tree

 This is the first post to this blog. My intentions are to create a space where we can record stories and adventures for our family so that we may attempt to know each other better and share experiences which might cause us each to learn from each other and gather closer with these shared experiences. I 'd like to name the blog "The Giving Tree" for we give of ourselves when we become vulnerable enough to share what really matters. The trick is in realizing that everything matters! You may find yourself sharing a mundane story of an event which to you seems pedestrian and without much interest at all. To that person receiving the story, it could be the spark that lit a fire that could sweep a nation or simply but no less impactful, sweep their lives into an entirely new direction.

Let me explain the "The Giving Tree". We are all part of a family that goes back for generations. Our family started with a seed (God's creation) and grew into something magnificent. We all grew from that tree, each of us branches, growing from another branch, strong enough to support us. Sometimes, branches are grafted onto our tree and become part of us. Sometimes, others land among or branches and stay for a time. We have experiences and events that show up as simple leaves that grow and turn color and eventually fade away. I wish for us to tell these stories so that they are not forgotten, and we may know each other on a deeper level.  Please join me by posting a story, thought, feeling, event or simply a poem that will bring flowers to an otherwise unnoticed tree! We all belong in this tree that we call family and it's up to us to bring forth flowers!
