Thailand- Third & last scuba day
I can't believe that I slept as much as I did last night! I am feeling refreshed and ready for the day though. My tummy isn't entirely happy because of the spicy chicken last night though. When will I ever learn?
Bananas and toast for breakfast and skip the tea. I see monkeys in the tree at breakfast. So cute. Did you spot him?
Scuba does take a lot of energy out of you when you aren't totally relaxed. Which, I will have you know, I was able to acheive today a few times! I'm talking about weightless floating where you feel like one with the ocean! I got right in the water today without much effort. I felt more relaxed and controlled my breathing pretty well. I am really working on controlling my depth through my breath which can be tricky at first but I'm getting the hang of it. I have an amazing experience today. We went back to phi phi and I see so many beautiful fish and coral. This was hands down, the best scuba trip for me to date! The most amazing was to swim near a grouping of six scorpion fish. They are the most beautiful when they are floating like angels in the ocean... And to see them in a group was super amazing! The starfish were vibrant blue or yellow. I saw vibrant sea fan coral for the first time in such large amounts. Breathtaking! I saw a shark and lots of varieties of groupers-there are so many in so many different colors. I even got to see these little cute fishes that had faces like puppy dogs. Oh, and box fishes too. So many, I can't remember all the beautiful creatures underwater. The day was simply amazing!
I was really hungry due to my light breakfast but the had coconut sticky rice treats on the boat. I ate two! I must get the recipe. They are so yummy! I always forget to take a picture until after my first bite. Sorry- I can't seem to help myself!
I'm sad to say that was my last scuba for Krabi. It was nice to end with a beautiful experience. Something to keep me looking forward to the next one!
While diving today, I was able to experience to slow pace of the ocean. All of the living things of the ocean move at their own place and won't be rushed. They are all perfectly in sinc. They seem to live perfectly in rhythm with each other and their environment. I felt weightless, thoughtless and totally free down there in the darkness of the ocean. What peace! I think we can learn a lot from the ocean just as I am seeking to learn from the Thai culture. When we let go and immerse ourselves, we can hope to experience something new that changes us forever.
The driver drops me of at the street below my hotel as usual. I was feeling hungry and of need of sugar so I grab a mango coconut smoothy across the street from the hotel and get a strawberry one for John. He is waiting for me at the pool as usual. I stick my feet in and sip my smoothy. This is heaven!
Quick shower and off to get some real food. We head to Cafe 8.98, which is where we have been eating for like three days straight. It is clean and has excellent food. I order my peach soda, a hamburger, side salad and order of fries. Is that too much? Nah! John helps me with the fries and we have to order another basket.
John dropped the laundry off and we head back for a quick nap. We intended to get massages but my nap turned into sleep😴 so... No massage for me tonight! When you fall asleep too early, we all know what happens... We wake up in the middle of the night unable to get back to sleep. That is me right now... Writing this blog, unable to sleep, wide awake. 🥺 Thinking about elephants, monkeys, sea creatures, and or next adventure. What will it be?
Oh, btw...I found another code violation! I'm pretty sure that emergency light isn't going to work in the event if an evacuation!
Looks like an extension cord is needed...maybe you can find a guy...🤣
ReplyDeleteThe sticky rice is my favorite. The banana leaf is important for the flavor.
